Join us for a journey back to the time of the German occupation. When difficult choices, fear and fascination filled everyday life.
This tour takes you through the occupation from 1940 to 1945, based on the human stories behind the major events. Students encounter collaborationist policies, sabotage actions, resistance fighters and those who chose to fight on the side of the Germans – and ask questions that are still relevant today.
1.
Resistance, collaboration or nothing?
Through encountering real people's stories, students discover that war forces everyone to take a stand, whether they want to or not. What would you have chosen, and what would it have cost you?

A lot of Danes were revengeful after the war
Are we still feeling the consequences?
Debates about the choices during the occupation are not over. They are still going on and are as relevant as ever. The tour allows students to reflect on how history leaves its mark on the present and on our self-image as Danes. It is not just the past: it is part of who we are.
