Guidelines for private guides

When visiting the museum on your own

Authorized tour guides are welcome to lead groups at the Museum of Danish Resistance.

However, groups must reserve a time slot to be sure of gaining access at a specific time.

The museum reserves the right to refuse groups without a reservation.

At the moment, it is possible to visit the museum with groups at 10:15, 11:00, 13:15 and 14:00.

For an additional fee, it is also possible to visit the museum with groups outside regular opening hours.

Book an appointment here:

NOTE: Large parts of the exhibition are based on stories told via audio guides. Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide headsets for groups so they can listen to these stories. Please be aware that the group will therefore miss out on this part of the exhibition during their visit.

Before the visit

Bus parking: Drop-off and boarding can take place at the drop-off area in front of the museum’s main entrance at Esplanaden 13.

The guide must pay special attention to the bicycle lane when the guests step out of the bus.

For boarding and disembarking at the official tourist bus parking, please use the bus parking at Churchill Park.

Before entering, the guide must inform the group about rules and practical matters, including that it is possible to pay with € and $ in the museum shop; however, only with banknotes, NOT coins, and change will be given in Danish kroner.

There are limited cloakroom facilities and only space for small bags. For storage of large bags and suitcases, please use LuggageHero in Bredgade.

Groups are not allowed to stay for extended periods on floor -1 and in the rotunda on floor -2.

Groups have access to the museum via Esplanaden 13.

During the visit

Before starting the tour, the guide must inform the group about the visitor rules:

The guide must keep the visitors in the group together.

A guided tour may last a maximum of 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Speak quietly and be considerate of other guests and groups.

Do not step in front of another guide who is currently speaking to their group.

The tour takes place with entry through the door with the green light.

Food and drinks may not be brought into the exhibitions.

Photography without flash is permitted using mobile phones and handheld cameras.

Intoxicated behavior is not accepted.

Instructions from the museum staff must be followed.

After the visit

After the visit, the guide is welcome to help with any translation needed in the museum shop.
